John Cameron: Chief Technology Officer, Orc Software

John is responsible for Orc Software’s global product development strategy.

John Cameron founded Cameron Systems in 1997; the leading FIX (Financial Information eXchange) solutions firm purchased by Orc Software in 2006. John has 20+ years experience in IT consulting and financial software development, particularly in the areas of electronic trading and FIX.

John was a member of the team that wrote SEATS, the first automated trading system used by the Australian Stock Exchange, which went live in 1987. Since then he has designed and developed electronic trading and market information systems for major financial institutions throughout UK, North America, France and Australia. These include UBS, BZW, Barclays Bank, Australian Stock Exchange, and Equinet (acquired by Knight Ridder).

John is the original author of the Orc connectivity solution, CameronFIX, and has been involved with 200+ FIX deployments.
