Orc Software is seeking a sales engineer associate for our New York/downtown Chicago office. The position is part of the algorithmic trading solutions group and involves system installation and implementation, developing trading strategies and providing support to clients using Orc's algorithmic trading software. The ideal candidate will have a degree in mathematics and computer science, and experience within the financial industry, either on the trading floor or at a trading firm. A transcript that includes mathematics and programming courses is required. Other qualifications include a genuine interest in trading and the financial markets. The position involves working closely with clients, and therefore strong people skills are a must. Other key attributes include the ability to troubleshoot problems for customers, follow tasks through to completion, multi-task, and be a solid team player with a desire to learn new systems and processes.

Areas of Responsibility

Revenue Generation and Implementation of Algorithmic Trading/Orc Trader/ Connectivity projects

Sales and Marketing

• Assist customers with implmentation of algorithmic trading strategies
• Giude customers in system and strategy design
• Proactive technical assistance in sales process
• Main technical contact to client during sales process
• Manage demos and provide in depth product information at customer meetings
• Produce internal and external training sessions – sales trainings & customer trainings
• Document and manage implementation/installation projects
  

Product Management

• Liaison with product management regarding sales related development requests
• Learn about industry trends and provide feedback to product management
• Coordinate client and Orc development activities
  

Reporting

To Head of Algorithmic Trading Solutions

Performance will be measured by:

• Revenue generation of North American sales
• Quality of technical assistance provided to customers during the sales and implementation process
• Ability to learn the complexity of strategy design and implementation
• Motivation of team
