We are strengthening our Trading Applications development centre in Stockholm with Junior and Senior Software Developers. Examples of the roles we are looking to fill:
Client developer: in this role, you will be part of a team developing one of our world class Trading applications for customers in areas such as Market Making or Algorithmic Trading.
Server developer: here, you will be working on the platform for Orc Trading products, making sure it meets our customer’s requirements for high performance and reliability.
Both roles entail working with a wide variety of tasks, ranging from detailing customer requirements, design, implementation and testing. Work is done in small teams, in close cooperation with other developers as well as testers, product managers, technical writers and support staff. As our organization is truly international, you can expect frequent interaction with other offices as well as some degree of travel.
Basic requirements junior developers:
• M Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or similar degree.
• 0-2 years experience of system development.
• Good theoretical and practical knowledge of object oriented development in one or several high level programming languages in the ”C-family” (C, C++, Java, C#)
• Good knowledge about agile development methodology
• A keen interest to learn how to develop complex software systems with high demands on quality, reliability and performance.
• A keen interest in the financial market.
• Very good skills (verbal and writing) in English.
Personal characteristics:
The ideal candidate is a self starting team player with a high degree of responsibility taking. He/she has a strong desire to learn all aspects of the software engineering craft and is sufficiently pragmatic when it comes to choice of platforms, tools and languages.
Basic requirements senior developers:
• Probably an M Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or similar degree, but the actual hands-on experience is what will count the most.
• At least 3 years experience of developing complex software systems with high demands on quality, reliability and performance.
• Solid theoretical and practical knowledge of object oriented development in one or several high level programming languages in the ”C-family” (C, C++, Java, C#).
• Very good knowledge of all aspects of the software development value chain – from requirements analysis through to releasing working software to customers.
• Good theoretical and practical knowledge of agile development methodology.
• A keen interest in the financial market.
• Very good skills (verbal and writing) in English.
Personal characteristics:
This is someone who is well versed in the software engineering craft, but is still eager to learn more. He/she has the ability to work on architectural level, but does still want to write code on a daily basis. The successful candidate is more concerned with delivering working software to customers than using a certain tool or technology. He/she enjoys sharing knowledge and practices with others a regular part of the job.
